About Dr. Yee
Dr. Yee is a native San Franciscan who from a young age has always had a love of biology and medicine. As the eldest of three sisters, she was the caretaker of the family, a role that naturally extended to most areas of her life. Her passion for medicine began early—her youngest sister was often her "patient" to be bandaged or have a light flashed into her throat. From the time she started learning about red blood cells and physiology, she was captivated by the wonders of what our bodies can do.
Throughout her life, from taking her grandmother to medical appointments to her years in practice, Dr. Yee has witnessed the profound impact of compassionate and comprehensive care. This has become a focal point in her daily interactions with patients.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Yee is a self-proclaimed "foodie" who enjoys exploring the culinary world. She also enjoys getting lost in a good book and hopes to one day resume playing the violin. Dr. Yee is blessed with a large extended family and close friends, often spending weekends visiting loved ones throughout the Bay Area.

Research Background
With over 15 years of experience practicing medicine in Marin County, Dr. Yee's path in medicine began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics from UC Davis. Following her undergraduate studies, she contributed to groundbreaking research at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, working on the human and drosophila genome projects with the NIH when modern genomic research was in its infancy.
She then transitioned to cardiovascular research at the J. Gladstone Institute, working with "knocking out" then-novel genes such as Apolipoprotein B, which is now used as a cardiac risk marker. Ultimately, her passion for working directly with people led her back to clinical medicine. Dr. Yee values her time outside of academia as it has provided her with invaluable life experience, enhancing her ability to understand and connect with her patients.
